First of! I want to thank all of you who’ve stuck with this tumblr, even in the midst of me being gone for a couple of months! It really means a lot! I was surprised to see my inbox full of nice, encouraging messages! It really reaffirmed in me my passion for art and sharing art and inspiration with others!

The Gritty Details:
This semester of college has been one of the best/worst couple of months of my life. I’ve learned a lot about myself, more through trials, than tribulations, unfortunately.

What happened (in list form):

-Got forced to move out of my apartment
-Was essentially homeless for like a week or two with my cousin and my dog
-Found an amazing roomie to live with!
-Was Fellowship Vice President of a service org (APhiO)
-Planned a crapload of events
-Balanced 6 classes, with teaching, a social life, and my sanity
-Wasn’t able to stay sane
-Lost a bunch of money :[
-Didn’t paint or draw ANYTHING
-Fell in love with 2ne1
-Wrote 50 pages in one day (I’m not exaggerating) focusing on Asian American issues, community development, and analyzing cultural traits from ethnic different perspectives
-had like a million break downs and car accidents in between

And now it’s finals week, which is the weirdest time to get back on tumblr, I know.But yeah. I had to stay away for a while because I just didn’t have the energy to do art, which is mainly why I blog.

One of the main things I’ve learned, and it’s really cliche, but whatever, is that it’s really important to stay true to yourself and what you love, because at the end of the day, in the mix of all this chaotic bullshit that is life, that’s what matters the most. I’ve had days where my body was shaking with anxiety, just because nothing was certain for a while, and I had no idea what to expect next. But now, I’m fine, and I’m more than ready to pull out the paintbrushes and create my next wave of femme fatales and their monster counterparts.

I really hope that your semester/quarter/past few months were better than mine, but if you had a similar experience and you’re ok now, I’m glad to see you on the other side.
